Marley Spoon Netherlands and NRC Webwinkel collaborated to create an elegant Christmas offering the NRC Kerstbox, for premium subscribers. This first edition, launched in the Netherlands and published in Dutch, served as a luxurious dinner kit that eased the demands of the holiday season. Designed for celebration, it allowed subscribers to share their culinary skills without the burden of menu planning. Beyond being a guide to preparing exquisite meals, the publication extended into the realm of hosting, offering refined table setting ideas, music playlists, and festive games to enrich gatherings. Our aim as the design team was to elevate the experience into something memorable and collectible, blurring the line between functional recipe book and memorabilia.

As part of the creative team, we developed the art direction for this print piece, ensuring a seamless balance between the voices of both brands. Marley Spoon’s identity as a global brand catering to both premium and family-oriented audiences aligned naturally with NRC Webwinkel’s discerning tone. The visual language was carefully structured to complement the photography, deep, festive hues met subtle Christmas flourishes, while typography carried warmth and sophistication. The outcome is a publication that not only guides readers through a culinary experience but also feels timeless. Designed as a piece to display, on coffee tables or kitchen counters, it remains a tangible reminder of the joy of shared meals, good company, and thoughtful design.
