Rhythm composes each frame, allowing audiences to experience the city not merely as a place, but as a lived and felt space, where summer’s essence pulses through both locals and landscape.

In my practice, colour has often been restrained yet here, the city felt bright, shaped by the subtle palette of coastal light. Shades of light that are often met with the soft arrival of rains, reflecting Cape Town’s famed four seasons in a day. Each photograph navigates this tension between calm and motion, stillness and storm revealing how the urban landscape and locals dance a delicate balance in between. By embracing these contrasts, the series captures the city’s fleeting moods, and the subtle parallels between the grounding waters and human presence.
